TOP 5: Premier League Managers Of The Season
Managers are often held accountable to their team’s fortunes
and all of those that graced the Premier League this season performed to
varying degrees of success.
In total, there were 27 managers across this year’s Premier
League, with eight managerial casualties. Following the last day of the season,
three more have added to that list through resignations, meaning that an
incredible eleven managers have lost their job because of their teams' poor
league position.
But there were a handful of managers that can be commended
for leading their team to success in the 2016/2017 season. In this article, The
Football Addick lists his Premier League managers of the season...
5) Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool

5) Liverpool's charismatic manager, Jurgen Klopp, has guided the club to Champions League qualification this season |
Liverpool secured Champions League qualification for only
the second time in eight seasons, and Jurgen Klopp must take a lot of credit
for ensuring they did.
In his first full season at the club, Klopp has managed to
integrate his philosophy into his team; meaning his team play with an intensity
that very few teams can deal with.
Although a few Liverpool fans may be disappointing that
their team did not mount a significant title challenge, this season represents
a significant step forward for a club that will be looking for further success
in the future.
With Klopp at the helm, the future looks bright for the
Merseyside club
4) Paul Clement - Swansea
Swansea City were in disarray on the eve of Clement's
appointment. Clement was given the manager's role on January 3, with Swansea
languishing at the depths of the Premier League, four points away from safety.
Clement had one job. Consolidate Swansea's Premier League
status.
Amazingly, Clement achieved his aim. The former Derby boss
led the club to a 15th place finish with a tally of 41 points, seven points
clear of relegation. Of his 18 games, Clement won eight of them, picking up 26
points along the way.
Swansea looked doomed going into 2017. But the appointment
of Clement turned out to be a masterstroke as he immediately reversed the Welsh
club's fortunes and ensured they finished well clear of relegation.
3) Mauricio Pochettino - Tottenham

3) Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham would have won the league had it not been for the brilliance of Chelsea |
Tottenham came into the year looking to capitalise on missed
chances last year. After initially struggling to make their mark, Tottenham
embarked on a remarkable run of results which saw them propel up the table and
into genuine title contenders.
Although they would be beaten to the title by Chelsea, much
credit must be given to Tottenham and Pochettino. The North London club
finished with 86 points, and scored the most goals (86) and conceded the least
times (26) in the Premier League.
Despite narrowly falling short of silverware, The Argentine
nevertheless built a team capable of mixing it with the best in the world.
They finished 3rd in 2015/2016. They finished 2nd in
2016/2017. Can Tottenham and Pochettino go one better next season?
2) Eddie Howe - Bournemouth
Eddie Howe is nothing short of a miracle worker. When he was
first given the job, Bournemouth were 10 points adrift of safety in League 2
and almost certainly dropping out of the Football league. They are now an
established Premier League club.
No-one gave Bournemouth a prayer last season. But Howe,
defied the odds, and ensured his club would compete in the Premier League again
this season. Again, many believed the seaside club would struggle again.
But they did not. In fact, Howe led his team to the top
half; an incredible feat for a team of Bournemouth's stature.
In the end, Bournemouth finished 9th with 46 points. Howe
has been credited for implementing an attacking style of play to his team; with
the Cherries finishing 7th highest for goals scored, above Manchester United.
What Howe has done for the club has been astonishing.
1) Antonio Conte - Chelsea

1) Chelsea won their 5th Premier League title thanks to the brilliant tactics of Antonio Conte |
What a first season. Chelsea finished 10th last season but
under the Italian's guidance, they romped away with the title.
Proceedings did not start off smoothly for Conte. His side
were struggling; and after only roughly two months at the helm there were
rumours he would be replaced.
But after switching to a 3-5-2, Chelsea's players would
thrive under the new system. Conte would lead his team to 93 points, just two
points shy of the Premier League record.
It has been a remarkable debut season in the Premier League
for Antonio Conte this season, and it could get even better if Chelsea triumph
in the FA Cup Final against arsenal on Sunday.
Regardless, Chelsea's dominance this season has seen Conte
establish himself as one of the best managers in world football.
