Last year's champion, Chris Wood |
*Odds provided by Sky Bet
Fransesco Molinari - 14/1:
The Italian recorded four straight top nine finishes in Virginia Water between 2012 - 2015, before a T55 finish last year snapped that streak. He has been in great form recently which suggests he could record another high finish this week, having finished in a T6 at The Players Championship in his last start.
Chris Wood - 33/1:
The defending champion should not be ruled out for winning the title two years in a row. In addition to his win here in 2016, he finished in a T4 in 2015 and a T21 in 2014. In his last solo start just over a month ago, he finished in a T4 at the Volvo China. At 33/1 he represents great value.
Shane Lowry - 40/1:
Lowry was one of the favourites to lift the title last year, but crumbled on the first two days, leading to a disappointing missed cut. However, in the past five years before that, he had recorded four finishes insides the top 12. He has not been playing too well recently, but that course form means he cannot be disregarded this week.
Pablo Larrazabal - 45/1:
The Spaniard has placed in the top 12 in three of the last four editions at Wentworth. He has also been playing well in recent weeks, having finished 3rd, T11 and T13 in his past three starts. Put course form and past form together and you have a strong contender this week.
Fabrizio Zanotti - 66/1:
Zanotti has had some poor finishes on the PGA Tour in recent weeks, but has been performing well away from America. He has three top 12 finishes in his last six starts worldwide, including a win at the Maybank Championship in February. He has also had four finsishes inside the top 24 in four of the last six editions at Wentworth.
Thomas Aiken - 70/1:
The South African has been another player that has failed to replicate his form on the American stage, having been very dissapointing in his last few starts on the Web.com Tour. However, aside from his performances in America he has done well, having recorded four top 15 finishes since the turn of the year. He also has a T4 in 2016 and a T7 in 2014 to his name at the event.
