Judgement day. A win will see CPR lift the title, but a draw will force a playoff and even worse, a loss will see CPR fall agonisingly short by a solitary point. A 4-4 epic earlier on in the season against their big rivals meant that CPR went into the game nervous, but were driven with a steely determination to get revenge. 13 games through and CPR need just one more win to secure the title. 6/6 for wins on the road was a good omen, but the title was not secured. 90 minutes. That's all that was left in a gruelling season. Could CPR stand up and be counted for one last time? Firstly, as some of you may know, CPR played against Hartley Whitney on Tuesday night, with a win enough to clinch the title for the Blads. However, a loss would've put the title race right back in the balance and would mean CPR would need to get at least 4 more points in their remaining 2 games. And the worst case scenario happened. Hartley Whitney ran out 2-1 winners. In fairness it was probably the correct result, with CPR's depleted team coming under heavy pressure from Hartley Whitney throughout the game. I apologise for not writing a match report specifically for that game, but this is how the table looks going into the final 2 games of the season. With CPR travelling to play 3rd on Sunday and 2nd on Tuesday, it was certainly 'Judgement week' for the table toppers. The big game is on Tuesday against CPR's main rivals, Hartley Whitney, but the black and orange striped side still needed to dispose of Wokingham & Embrook to put them in good stead for the title decider on Tuesday. Wins on both Sunday and Tuesday will be enough to win the league for the newly formed side, and there was a level of belief and determination as they travelled to Wokingham in one of the biggest games of their season. Disappointment. One word that sums up Chelsea's season. This is a new article series I’m currently working on, and consists of analysing the best squads in the world and assessing whether they'll be a threat in Europe next year. I then go on to name my starting XI for that specific team next season, based on the team they currently have, and evaluate their 'fear factor' out of 10. But here's the twist.
