Suarez: a man in form

Luis Suarez. Currently the name on everybody's lips that support England's second most prestigious club. The Uruguayan magician had been in scintillating form this season, with his wizardry and intelligence up front bamboozling the mind of countless opposition defences. He is very much a man in red hot form, and he has been involved in virtually every Liverpool goal this year. The tricky South American has scored 10 of Liverpool's 17 goals in the league this year, and also has 3 assists to his name. That is a mark of how important the man is to the football club, and based on those facts above, you could effectively call Liverpool a one man team.

Suarez heads in to equalise against Chelsea
The Uruguayan is not everyone's cup of tea at times, but regardless of what you think of him you have to admire his perseverance and sheer brilliance up front. Surrounded by mediocre team mates, Suarez doubles his efforts whenever his team are staring down the barrel of defeat. The man just does not give up. He has single handedly won Liverpool points this season, bailing Liverpool out last weekend by taking a valuable point away at Chelsea. In fact if you take away his presence, then Liverpool would lie bottom of the table with 3 points. That just says it all about how influential he has been this season, and is a mark of just how talented he is.

With Gerrard sitting deep, he can no longer provide the
attacking brilliance that he has done for so many years

His impact has been so much so, that he now has a similar role to what Van Persie had when he was at Arsenal. He is the only man at Liverpool who has a spark when he steps onto the pitch; he is a man that can make things happen. Sadly, Liverpool don't possess another attacker with that quality. Shelvey gets into positions and finds it tricky to convert, Sterling is young and still learning, and Gerrard's attacking influence has declined through age and now sits deep in midfield. Due to these factors, Liverpool struggle to score, and are now frequently looking to Suarez to bail them out; and Suarez has not disappointed. However, despite Suarez going through such a rich vein of form, it is hard to see whether Liverpool can be one of the best in England again. Suarez is a terrific player, but it takes more then one man to make a team.

The worst case scenario for Liverpool is if Suarez loses this incredible form. His goals and creation up front are propelling Liverpool up the table as of late, and they are now unbeaten for 7 games in the league. This is mainly down to the contribution that Suarez has made, but if his performance level drops, then Liverpool will drop in league position too. Suarez has been known to be erratic in front of goal, and if this creeps back into his game, then Liverpool are going to be in big trouble. No one else at Liverpool can score or supply goals at the same magnitude as Suarez at the club, and if he misfires then Liverpool will have to wave goodbye to any Europe ambitions. However, at the moment everything he is touching turns to gold, and if this carries on then the Reds will continue to rise up the table. Who knows, maybe even into the Champions League places?
