Villa's rock at the back, James Collins
A truly disappointing season for an ambitious set of fans who in the end will be relieved that they aren't playing championship football next season. Villa were once mixing it with the big boys and finishing in the Europa league places, but since Martin O'Neill's departure the team have declined massively. They've lost most of their key players, and towards the end of the season were forced to play young, inexperienced players which plunged them deep into a relegation battle. Their lost of the experienced duo Martin Petrov and Darren Bent half way through the season must’ve hit the team hard, as they quickly spiralled down the table. Although they just survived, they will be looking for star striker Darren Bent to fire them to around mid table next season.

QPR's player of the season, Clint Hill
QPR fans and players alike will be delighted that they stayed up, but in the end it was extremely nervy. QPR will have to thank Stoke for their survival, as they held Bolton to a draw to send Bolton down and consequently keep them up. Mark Hughes will no doubt be looking to add quality to his squad, and the addition of Djibril Cisse was in my opinion an extremely important one, although he did get sent off twice towards the end of the season. Overall, they maybe just did enough to stay up, but they will need to improve massively if they want to battle against safety next season.

English midfielder, Mark Davies
Bolton's 11 year stint in the Premier League finally came to an end this year as they lost their battle to survive on the last day of the season. Bolton's season has had numerous ups and downs, but in the end, Owen Coyle and his men simply couldn't muster the strength and quality to stay in the Premier League for at least another season. It could be argued that they didn't have the quality to stay up, with mediocrity all over the park suggesting that they didn't have the Premier League quality needed in order to compete in the Premier League. The arrival of wonder kid Ryo Miyaichi from Arsenal on loan helped boost their chances, but Bolton agonisingly missed out by a point due to being held at Stoke on the last day of the season.

the Canadian wizard, Junior Hoillet
The whole season has been a total and utter shambles for Blackburn and it has been compounded by relegation back to the Championship. The fans have held frequent protests about manager Steve Kean and Owners Venky's all season, but they could do nothing as they watched their team crash and burn towards the end of the season in their bid for survival. The only positives of this terrible campaign are the performances of attacking duo Junior Hoillet and Yakubu, who have been magnificent for Blackburn throughout the season. It is hard to believe that not so long ago, roughly 15 years, Blackburn were celebrating beating Man United to the title to lift their first ever Premier League title. But that's in the past, and next season instead of competing in the Premier league, will have to battle all year round to regain their Premier League status. This year, a Premier League established club, West Ham, bounced back at the same time of asking with promotion back up to the Premier League. The question is, can Blackburn do the same?

A rare bright spark in a shocking Wolves season, Matt Jarvis
Wolves were doing well and looked in touch with survival, but their season fatally came crashing down after the sacking of previous boss Mick McCarthy. Terry O'Connor, who was McCarthy's assistant, took over and in fact changed their fortune for the worse. Since O'Connor was given the managerial task of keeping Wolves in the Premier League, his lack of managerial experience showed and he was only able to lead his team to 3 points in 13 games. They weren't even able to put up a fight, and were relegated with 4 games to go. The only bright spot in an extremely lacklustre season was the brilliance of Matt Jarvis, who I would expect would definitely be playing in the Premier League next season, most likely with Stoke who are rumoured to have tabled a £10 million bid for the tricky English winger.
