Papiss Cisse

Words can't describe the talent that Cisse has brought to Newcastle United football club. He was originally brought to provide service to his international strike partner Demba Ba, but the goals he has provided have been exquisite. Despite being unable to speak English at all, he has jelled with his team mates immediately and has provided the club with an incredible 13 goals in 12 games, including his incredible double against Chelsea on Wednesday. He has taken the Premier League by storm, scoring left right and centre in Newcastle's surge up the table to just outside the Champions League places.

Cisse has been celebrating frequently since his arrival from
Freiburg in January
He arrived under huge pressure having inherited the famous number 9 shirt that former Toon legend Alan Shearer wore. But he has more than coped with the expectation, having become the second fastest player (behind Niall Quinn) to reach 10 goals in the Premier League, in just 9 games. He has been a revelation since his signing from Freiburg, and no one could've predicted the impact that he has made. Not only has he replaced Demba Ba as Newcastle's main man, but he has quickly established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League.

Helped by his exquisite eye for goal, he has immediately become a fan favourite at Newcastle, and has been lighting up both the Sports Direct Arena and the Premier League with his natural finishing instincts. These instincts have already sunk the likes of Chelsea, who had no answer to his brilliance. His first goal was good, but his second was even better. His incredible touch and left foot volley in the first half was extremely special, but there was more to come. In the 93rd minute, Cisse produced what was an absolutely astonishing piece of brilliance. The ball came bouncing back to him, and from 25 yards Cisse let fly with his outside of the foot. The ball appeared to be heading miles wide, but the ball swerved incredible and into the far corner of the net. Petr Cech simply looked amazed by the effort, and his shocked expression suggested that he had just been beaten by an unstoppable effort. What a goal.

Cisse has the quality to severely harm City's title ambitions
Cisse may be firing Newcastle into the Champions league, but his goals may also affect the title race. Manchester City travel to Newcastle later today, and a win will ensure that they have one hand on the trophy going into the last day of the season. But City are against something that may prove to be a huge stumbling block; Papiss Cisse. Man City will need to obtain Cisse if they wish to win the title, but if not, they'll be in serious trouble. His presence up front is enough to scare the City back line, and it's how they contain him that may decide where the Barclays Premier League Title is heading.

With 13 goals in 12 games, Cisse has been on fire for Newcastle since his arrival in January. His goals have been priceless for Newcastle this term, and he has picked up points for Newcastle by himself. But what's more, is his price tag. 10 million. In football terms, that's a bargain. He already has more goals in the Premier League this season then Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres combined, and they commanded transfer fees of 35 million and 50 million respectively, 75 million more then Cisse. He has lightened up the premier league this term, but can he now be a pivotal figure in the title race and do United fans a favour?
