Manchester United 'very close' to making second summer signing

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a fine job at Manchester United.

The Norwegian manager took over in December 2018 with the club in turmoil.

Fast forward two years and United are now back in the Champions League and looking to challenge for the Premier League title once again.

United need to have a successful transfer window, though.

They finished a massive 33 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League last campaign, meaning bolstering the squad is of paramount importance.

The Red Devils have already completed the signing of Ajax star, Donny van de Beek.

The Dutch midfielder joined the club earlier this month as he completed a £40m move.

And it appears United are set to announce their second signing of the summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, United are 'very close' to signing to signing Real Madrid left-back, Sergio Reguilon.

Negotiations are said to be 'well advanced' and the signing could be completed by the end of the week. The fee is believed to be around £22.5m.

It isn't a done deal just yet, however. Real Madrid are believed to want a buy-back option, but United don't want to include that clause.

If United do get the deal over the line, he will be competing with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams for a spot in the starting XI.
