SUCCESS! At last....

Image
It may be the Carling Cup that Liverpool have secured, but a cups a cup regardless. It may not have been in particularly convincing fashion, but the past 6 years that have ended trophy less have led to turmoil for everyone connected with the club. A club which has been so successful in English football since their formation in 1892, they have gone through good times and bad times, and if they ever needed a trophy so bad - this was the time. What makes the win so significant are their performances in the Premier League over the past 2/3 years. They've struggled to emulate any sort of form from the League Cup and take that into the Premier League, adding to the significance as it'll provide a much needed confidence boost that'll do them a world of good. But would they perform on the day? All the pressure was on them, and in order to end their search for a trophy, they had to stand up and be counted and see off a dangerous Cardiff outfit. Skrtel makes the scoreline 1-1 I...

England Clubs Domestic Woes

Image
I'm writing this right after Chelsea trail Napoli 3-1 after the first leg in Naples , and to be honest, emotions are running high. I've never been so ashamed in English domestic football in my life - Chelsea 's performance underlining the incompetence of English football. I remember a time where England used to dominate Europe , contesting every game and pitting their wits against even the world’s best clubs; and prevailing. This time was merely a few years ago, but sadly, after the evidence of English clubs in Europe this year, it impossible to say that The English league is the best league in the world. Cavani scoring the second goal for Napoli against Chelsea, leaving Chelsea keeper, Petr Cech, hapless England are the creators of football, responsible for the beautiful game that seems to dominate everyday modern life. A great history surrounds the countries top clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester United just two of the clubs who have enjoyed past time success i...

Thanks Everyone!

Image
A picture of a 11 year old me - solely for banter purposes I know I've only just started out writing, but after reaching the 100 mark on profile views I am honoured and proud for all the support I am getting. I don't post every day, but after receiving some great reviews of support I will try my best to continue to make my blog interesting to read for the future. Hopefully this is only the start, and in the future I hope I can do big things and reach my ambition of writing for one of England's most popular newspapers! So thank you for the support everyone, I will try to dedicate more time to my blog and improve it vastly over the coming months, and hopefully 200 views will be just round the corner! Thanks for reading everyone!

Fabio Capello Resignation - My views

Image
The first instalment in a couple of days is based around Fabio Capello and his resignation from the England Managerial spot. Once again there has been a lot of controversy revolving around this topic and there have been questions surrounding Fabio Capello's resignation. But, did he make the right decision? Personally, I have serious concerns about England 's position going into Euro 2012. Without a captain and a manager, England couldn't find themselves in a worse position and have serious problems to resolve in a short period of time, with the Euro's rapidly approaching: only 4 months away. The English FA have handled the Terry incident extremely poorly, putting England's hopes and dreams of ending just over 40 years of hurt by not winning a major trophy under serious jeopardy. Fabio Capello resigned adter a tense 6 hour meeting with the English FA The FA should’ve let Capello deal with the situation how he wanted to, without outside influence or anyon...

The England job vacancy - My main candidates

Image
Since Wednesday, England have been manager less. After a dispute with the English FA and neither party content with standing down, Fabio Capello resigned after a tension filled meeting with the FA - leaving the England job vacancy open. This has created a national dispute debating who would be the correct candidate to choose as the next England manager. But who would I choose? I outline my views on who, in my opinion, would be the most suitable man to take the job and attempt to establish England as one of the most feared teams on the international stage again. Harry Redknapp is leading a long list of candidates for The England job Firstly, I'm quite disappointed in the manner that Capello left the job. I know I outlined this in my previous post, but I'm passionate about this topic. Like I previously stated, his win record of 67% is a worthy statistic, accompanied by his passion for the game - making him a terrific manager. However he lost his support after the infamou...

Suarez vs Evra - THAT Handshake

Image
Although I am in Germany at the time of writing, I was able to watch the first half of the Manchester United vs Liverpool game - meaning I saw the pre - match antics. There was also going to be controversy surrounding the game, Suarez just returning from an 8 match ban after racially abusing Evra back in their last meeting back in December. Of course the intense rivalry over the years between the two clubs also adds to the spice, and the game was widely anticipated due to these two factors. Luis Suarez has been involved in a mass amount of controversy as his time as a footballer - most recently with racial remarks made Manchester United's Patrice Evra It was Suarez's second match back from an 8 match suspension which both he and the club thought should not have stood, with Kenny Dalglish announcing his disgust at the decision immediately after Suarez had served his punishment. Clearly still bitter with the decision, Suarez let emotions spill over and refused to shake th...

John Terry and the England Captaincy

Image
First things first, I am quite ashamed of my lack of motivation in writing these posts in recent weeks and I sincerely apologise to all who are disappointed by my efforts. My deepest apologies go to those who have believed in my ability through and through, such as Luke Marsh, Mark Watson, Jordan Parslow and Alex Dunnage who have constantly raved about my writing ability. However, in the coming days I will live up to all expectations and not disappoint, offering my views on 3 key topics that have dominated the back pages in recent weeks: John Terry, Fabio Capello, and the England manager Vacancy. That out the way, The FA's decision to remove John Terry from the England captaincy in recent weeks have been controversial, and I seem to have very strong views on this matter. Controversy has revolved around former England captain John Terry in recent months I don't care what anyone else says, John Terry is not a racist. Simple as that. I...
